EDITORIAL PRINT DESIGN

THE PUBLICATION - FLUX Magazine is University of Oregon’s award-winning, capstone publication through the School of Journalism & Communication. The Spring 2020 issue, titled “Uncertainty” due to the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic and other unprecedented times, received 15 Gold Circle Awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, including eight national design awards. This publication was produced entirely over zoom due to the pandemic.

Art in second chances

MY ROLE - As Editorial Designer, I designed a main feature article, “Art in Second Chances.” The article highlights the story of a local alternative designer spearheading environmental fashion in the Eugene, OR community.

DESIGN DECISIONS - Strategic headline design through typography, bold use of color and intentional iconography reflect designer Mitra Gruwell’s quirky personal style.
